Local 221 is a provisional organization

Many CR members feel the local is conducting certain non-representational activities especially during provisional status. As a result, many Crafts Bargaining Unit members want to rescind agency shop provisions by holding a Fair Share Fee Rescission Election.

How do you do that? First you need to petition for signatures. Once 30% of the bargaining unit members sign, the petition is sent to the PERB who then holds an independent election by secret ballot.

If approved by a majority vote, agency shop could be rescinded and members would again be able to choose.
